People collect things as an expression of emotion; of personality.

The downfall of this is that the excess of our possessions, of the things that are owned, infact have the nefarious ability to possess the human as an emotional muddle up. As such, “things” collected can clutter and complicate our lives as the inventory grows; corrupting our emotions while they are justified by the emotions, and the will that put them there.

The cycle may be perpetual, one that will lead us even into the horrible situation of household debt and selling of our true identity for consumption.

For some all started simple enough but turns quietly and slowly to a trap of excess. Our society embraces it, promotes it as acceptable means for lifestyle. It all “creates jobs and stimulates the economy”.

Happy spring cleaning!
